watercoloring is my favorite and i specially love these layered transparent blossoms .  join us as we explore how to use watercolor glazing technique.   the transparent layers gives a degree of excitement with its unpredictability which can be very rewarding! no two blossoms can ever be the same! you'll see a whole new world in coloring once you use these -- guaranteed that you'd want to do more! you will make 4 - 5x7panels in this workshop and will learn simple strokes to create these beautiful blossoms! BONUS: prickly thistle, just because :-),

students bring:

  • baby wipes
  • watercolor medium - i used kuretake - you can use watercolor inks, i.e. dr ph martin's watercolor
  • different size brushes, suggestions below
    • watercolor brush #10 or #12
    • watercolor brush #6
    • fineliner brush
  • fine point black pen - micron .01 & .05 or microperm  .01 & .05
  • signo white pen
  • water container
  • paper towel/rag
  • heat tool - please bring if you have as this is crucial to the technique
  • watercolor palette box to mix your colors or acrylic block
